Last night when I got home from work, I was just chilling in my room before I gathered that my roommates were making some noise in a fit of minor commotion. Turns out a fire broke out a few doors down from us on the street adjacent to Laussat, the street we live on. The fire was closest to Fillmore and Waller and when we got out on the roof to get a look at what was going on, we were definitely floored by what we saw. Check out this post on Haighteration showing some of the photos and views we had, which includes a few shots from my roommate.
A fire broke out at a home at 436 Waller Street at around 6:30pm tonight, filling the neighborhood with smoke and bringing dozens of firefighters to the scene to battle the blaze.
I’m calling my rental insurance agent today.
These dudes have been my favorite new addition to the neighborhood.
If you’ve visited the Lower Haight on a recent Saturday night, you just might have come face-to-face with one of these oversized spacemen, who have been making brief, overnight visits to our neighborhood — presumably with the intention of conquering us.
